Thor's Journey to Jotunheim | A Norse Myth of Deception, Giants and True Strength | A Simple Ta
Simple Tales presents the legendary Norse myth Thor's Journey to Jotunheim—an iconic tale of magic, trickery, and the hidden limits of perception.
Accompanied by Loki, Thjalfi, and Roskva, the thunder god Thor travels to the distant land of Jotunheim. Arriving at the formidable castle of Utgard, the travelers are challenged by the giant king Utgarda-Loki to prove their legendary abilities. Yet, despite their best efforts, Loki loses an eating contest, Thjalfi is outrun in a race, and Thor fails to empty a drinking horn, lift a giant cat, or defeat an elderly woman in wrestling. Only as they depart does Utgarda-Loki reveal the truth: that through powerful illusion, Thor had actually bent the ocean, shifted mountains, and held back the weight of the entire world.
