This game was announced to be released in 2010 & numerous people were waiting for about three long years to taste it after the amzingly stunning experience with BioShock & not so great follow-up by BioShock 2. Do this game do the justice to the hungry gamers waiting so long? As it seems, it does! Even though it is released in chronological order yet this game takes the player back to early 20th century & tagging with the sweet "Elizabeth" it makes the whole journey as memorable as BioShock is expected to do.

Storyline:

Set in 1912 during the growth of American exceptionalism, the game has protagonist, former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, sent to the floating air-city of Columbia to find a young woman, Elizabeth, who has been held captive there for most of her life. Though Booker rescues Elizabeth, the two are pursued by the city's warring factions: the nativist and elite Founders that strive to keep the city for pure Americans, and the Vox Populi, a rebel grouping representing the common people. Booker finds Elizabeth to be central to this conflict, and learns that she possesses strange powers to manipulate rifts in the time-space continuum that ravage Columbia.

The rest is the sweet mystery the gamers should explore through themselves.

Made with Unreal Engine 3, the game has really took the game into different dimension of serenity of FPS gaming in the floating city of "Columbia". Although it was in development for over 2 and a half years & made alongside with other BioShock releases yet this version doesn't appear to be any prequel or sequel to any of its predeccessors.

Booker Dewitt, private investigator without anymore details runs through the utopic beauty of the Columbia to rescue Elizabeth with only objective, “bring us the girl and wipe away the debt”. The story starts to unravel after Booker rescues Elizabeth and finds her to be his companion throughout the journey. Booker running through the high rises of the city to flee from Columbia with Elizabeth gives the gamer a totally new gameplay experience like never before in any BioShock game. The utopic environment of Columbia along with all the bypassers & music through the atmosphere makes the gameplay really worth.

The potrayal of Elizabeth in game is as Booker's partner. Being a girl with emotions like sadness and frustration along with being a helping hand of Booker Elizabeth never becomes only a girl to be rescued! The game never makes it look like an escort mission. You may like to feel her emotions & may want to share yours. Other than the new additions to gameplay this girl must be the most important reason to look into this game. The 10-15 hours of intense gameplay would never be the same without this character in there.

The game controls are rather newer as expected. As most FPS games you use your right hand to hold variety of weapons. The left hand however holds the "Vigors". Vigors are the special powers you gain throughout the game and may take upto 8. There are lessons about how to use every new Vigor like there expected to be. Gamers may play around with Vigors to have mixed effects for different scenarios inside gameplay. The shield is another new addition for this particular game. Shield makes the health bar a little more secure than ever. But obvioulsy the foes have been designed to overcome it too. The surroundings if not noticed may get you inside the rain of bullets from unknown directions. But still in the end the game lets you become rather habituated of not failing. Being again a rather new feature, when the player dies it lets you revive near the spot in exchange of few dollars only and on top of that it adds some ammunition!

Game Trailer:

Last verdict, this game is worth playing if you are a FPS fan. You will enjoy it even with the non-existance of multiplayer mode. The flying city of Columbia, the sensational gameplay & emotional Elizabeth as assistance will make you be merged with this new world of BioShock.

So Game on.
